Tiger Leaping Gorge is located in Shangri-la county, Diqing prefecture, Yunnan province, China, lying on the dry Golden Sands River (Jingsha Jiang) between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong Xueshan), Lijiang and Haba Snow Mountain (Haba Xueshan), Shangri-la. Legend has it that a tiger appears in a village called Walnut Garden (Hetao Yuan) in the middle section of the Gorge and always preys on the cattle and sheep of the villagers. One day, the tiger comes again. The whole village is pounding on gongs and drums to chase the tiger away to the river side. Meanwhile, it is low-water season for the river, so the tiger leaps across from one side of the Gorge to the other into the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain by stepping onto a giant rock in the middle of the river. That’s the origin of the name Tiger Leaping Gorge.
虎跳峡是中国云南省迪庆州香格里拉县的一处峡谷，位于丽江的玉龙雪山与香格里拉的哈巴雪山之间的金沙江干流上。相传在中虎跳峡有一个叫核桃园的村寨里来了一只老虎。经常把老百姓家里养的牛羊抓吃了。有一天，老虎再次出现时，全村人敲锣打鼓，把老虎赶到江边。这时江水适逢枯水期，老虎就凭借着江中的巨石腾空跃到对面的玉龙雪山，从此这峡谷就称为虎跳峡。
The Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest gorges in China. It is located in the northeast of the Tiger Leaping Gorge Town, Shangri-la, Diqing, Yunnan province, China, stretching 33 miles. The main peak of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang is on the southeast side at an altitude of 5596 metres, while the Haba Snow Mountain in Shangri-la is on the west side at an altitude of 5396 metres. The Gorge is divided into three sections, namely the upper, the middle and the lower sections. And the middle section offers you the most magnificent scenery.
虎跳峡是中国最深的峡谷之一，在中国云南省迪庆藏族自治州香格里拉县虎跳峡镇东北方向，峡长33公里。东南边是丽江玉龙雪山主峰，海拔5596米，西岸是香格里拉哈巴雪山，海拔5396米，峡谷分上虎跳峡，中虎跳峡，下虎跳峡三段，其中最美最壮丽的当属中虎跳峡。
Tibet Guest House(卓玛客栈) is right by the road side at the Walnut Garden in the middle section of the Gorge. It is easily accessible and the guest house provides car rental services. Free pick up service will also be available within 3 miles of the guest house for tourists from Lijiang, Shangri-la, Deqin and Yading etc. Guests can enjoy the spectacular view of the lower section of the Gorge here in the guest house.

Standard room rates range from 80 to 160 dollars; standard double room rates range from 50 to 60 dollars; triple room rates are 30 dollars per head. 24 hours hot shower is available in all rooms.
客栈有标准间，收费80元至160元不等。普通双人间，收费50元至60元不等。多人间每人30元。房间内都有全天24小时热水淋浴。

Staying at the guest house, you can visit the middle Gorge, pass through the cliff (Yi Xian Tian) to marvel at the wonders of our nature, climb up the sky ladder, go from village to village, visit the waterfall, the snow mountain and enjoy the full view of the entire Tiger Leaping Gorge. To the north, there are Haba village, Baishuitai and Shangri-la.

3. You may take buses from Shangri-la to the Tiger Leaping Gorge Town and ride on the car of the guest house or other vehicles to arrive at our house.

4. You may take buses from Shangri-la to Baishuitai via Haba village and arrive at Tibet Guest House.
